 7th Annual Out Shop Cancer Event: Shopping, Art, and Community Come Together to Fight Breast Cancer

October marks the return of the 7th annual Out Shop Cancer event, a month-long campaign supporting breast cancer research, awareness, and support. Running from October 1 to November 3, 2024, this exciting and impactful event invites everyone to join in the fight against breast cancer by participating in a series of engaging activities designed to raise funds for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and the American Cancer Society.

Event Highlights:

Main Store and Marketplace Sale & Gridwide Hunt

More than 70 stores are taking part in this dynamic shopping and hunting event. Shoppers can explore unique products, hunt for exclusive items, and contribute directly to the cause, with proceeds benefiting breast cancer research and support services.

Out Shop Cancer: A Dream of Pink Hope
October 15 – November 3, 2024
This special portion of the event features a Pop-Up Market offering convenient access to an array of items in support of the cause. Additional activities include an Art Walk, Float and Pumpkin Decorating, and a Gala with Entertainment, creating an immersive and festive atmosphere that celebrates hope and resilience in the fight against breast cancer.

All proceeds from the Out Shop Cancer event will directly benefit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and the American Cancer Society, organizations dedicated to advancing breast cancer research, education, and offering crucial support to survivors and caregivers.

The 6th annual Out Shop Cancer event supporting Making Strides and the American Cancer Society is almost here.

Out Shop Cancer is a main store and marketplace shopping event and a signature Strides Campaign in Second Life in support of the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer programs and research.

The 2023 Out Shop Cancer event includes main store and marketplace shopping, a grid-wide hunt, an Out Shop Cancer Pop-up Market, and a special Gala event. Along with the many shopping opportunities, there will be several special raffles during the month, including raffles for eBody Reborn bodies, Belleza bodies, LeLutka heads, skin packs and much more.

In addition to the shopping, hunt and raffles, there will be an art walk and photo contest this year. The Easthaven Art Walk will also run Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 and feature the creative work of artists and photographers, with proceeds benefiting Strides. A photo contest with the theme, "Season of Hope" will be held at Easthaven and open to everyone to join in the fun!

With more than 70 stores participating ranging from clothes to decor to breedables, there is something for everyone. Sandie Slate, founder of Out Shop Cancer, says “The response from designers this year has been tremendous and the amount of support for the event has exceeded expectations. With the inclusion of the Pop-Up Market and the Gala event, this year’s event is jam-packed with shopping and much more.”

Slate continued: "By hosting events throughout the month, there's plenty to see and do -- all while helping to raise funds for a great cause."

The Out Shop Cancer event runs from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31. Shoppers will be able to pick up a shopping hud inworld at the Out Shop Cancer office. A list of contributing merchants with a shopping directory and the official bloggers can be found on the Out Shop Cancer website at https://www.outshopcancersecondlife.com/. Information about the Hunt, Pop-Up Market and Gala event will be available on the website as well.

All proceeds from this event go directly to the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer programs and services.

Pumpkin Town Day 2

Day 2 of Pumpkin Town I found the Costume Shop and managed to get a drink.

My shirt was made by After Midnight Fashion and is a hoody that comes in male and female sizes. (Male will be shown soon and have more information about the sizes so be patient.) Now the female is rigged for multiple mesh bodies and has a HUD with 6 different textures to choose from. This hoodie is exclusive for Pumpkin Town. Pumpkin Town runs until October 31st, 2020 and features so many haunted and amazing items from some of the most amazing shops. The town is perfect for pictures, exploring and having haunted fun.

My drink is the Party Glass from Truly Outrageous Fashion. This cup comes with a HUD that you can choose from 12 different cups and 12 different straw colors. It gives you the option to have a drink in the cup or just empty. It includes a holding pose and is material enabled.

My eyes are from .::[Unique Obsession]::. and are apart of the Schools of Magick Eyes Collection. These eyes feature 6 different colors and comes in BOM, Omega and Lelutka appliers. I am using the Omega applier on my Genus eyes and made them 2 different colors. .::[Unique Obsession]::. is apart of the Out Shop Cancer that features many more amazing shops that are helping earn money to fight against breast cancer. This event is ran outta every store and runs until October 31st, 2020.

Pumpkin Town 2020 Day 1

With October in full swing I bring you the countdown to Halloween with 16 days of amazing pictures featuring Pumpkin Town 2020. Pumpkin Town is an amazing yet creepy event that runs from October 1st, 2020 until October 31st, 2020. There are so many amazing things to see and take photos while you shop at some of the creepiest shops in Secondlife.

My shirt for day 1 features The Bold Llama T-Shirt Co. This shirt is for Out Shop Cancer that runs until October 31st, 2020. This shirt is 100% donation for each sale. It comes with a HUD that features 3 different textures and is rigged for so many mesh bodies I lost count.

My halo and tail are from NeverWish. The tail is a bento tail that features 21 animations and 8 static poses. It is material enabled so you can see the amazing workmanship put into it. It has a HUD to change the stars to 3 different colors and 3 different lengths. It has 11 different colors to mix and match and did I say how amazing it is. The halo is a matching halo to the Dreamer tail. It is also material enabled and comes in 3 different iridescent colors and 3 rainbow colors. Both the tail and halo are apart of the Fallen Gods Anniversary. The tail is an exclusive while the halo is a hunt item. This event and hunt runs until October 31st, 2020.

Outfit

Dark Betty made this amazing outfit. This outfit is called Awareness Outfit. It features jogging pants, tank top, shoes (not pictured is bangles and earrings). The pants, shirt and shoes are rigged for multiple bodies. These items are exclusive for the Rock Your Rack event that runs from October 3rd, 2020 until October 18th, 2020 and supports breast cancer research. These items are 100% donation per each sale.

Karmatose made the amazing mesh boxing gloves to knock out breast cancer. These gloves are exclusively 100% donations for Rock Your Rack. These gloves are rigged but fit the hands nicely.

Sassy Sweet Pose made the pose called Fight like a Girl. It features 5 poses plus mirrors and a pair of light pink gloves (not pictured). This pose is exclusive for Out Shop Cancer that runs from October 1st, 2020 until October 31st, 2020.

Keri's Cakery made some amazing cakes and cupcakes for Out Shop Cancer. This event runs from October 1st, 2020 until October 31st, 2020. The 3rd annual Out Shop Cancer event returns to Second Life featuring more merchants and more ways for residents to support Making Strides and the American Cancer Society. Since 2018, Out Shop Cancer has been a grid-wide shopping event that brought residents to participating merchant stores. Merchants designate specific items that will be sold as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer programs and services. Each year has seen an increase in the number of merchants and designers joining the fight against breast cancer. Continuing for the 2020 season is Out Shop Cancer: Marketplace. This allows designers without in-world locations to take part as well! And brand new for this year we have partnered with the Heathens Court Event, which includes more than 20 additional shopping opportunities to support Making Strides all in one location. A full Store directory including some Marketplace specials, full details about the Wythburn Art Walk and other highlights are available at outshopcancersecondlife.com or you can pick up a notecard listing in-world of participating locations and to check out the current raffles at the Out Shop Cancer office.
